Eliana’s home birth attempt ended in a transfer to a hospital that wasn’t allowing doula’s. I knew Alyssa was going to be pretty bummed to not have any pictures of her baby, and even though my contractual obligations had been fulfilled, I just don’t have it in me to leave a story unresolved. And it kills me to leave a mama with nothing but a disappointing birth experience, especially when I have the power to make things just a little bit less sucky.
So I trucked over to her homestead near Mobile, Alabama for a little Fresh 48-ish session. We snuggled and played on the front porch for a bit before heading into the kitchen for hot chocolate.
