I was speaking with another expectant mother a day or so before I met baby Andres. She expressed concern about not being able to get any sleeping baby images. I told her (truthfully) "I have never had a baby that didn't sleep for at least some portion of his or her photo session". Enter baby Andy:

With big brown eyes that didn't shut.

The. Whole. Session.

He began to yawn there at the very end, and fell asleep in my arms when I finally got to put down my camera and snuggle him. He got pretty fussy during the wrapped shots on the blue blanket. We soothed him with his very first taste of the pacifier. Which he promptly gripped with both hands and refused to let go of. I'm talking death grip here. So tight I could not pry his tiny fingers away. It was adorable.
