Since his next appointment was a hearing screening, which he needed to stay calm for, I acquiesced. And with a don't-you-dare-try-to-take-this-away-again ferocity, he promptly gripped his beloved paci with both hands and squeezed his eyes tight in his effort to hang on to it. Marisa and Dustin were probably the most chill, go-with-the-flow new parents I have ever seen. All smiles, not worried about the pacifier being in every shot, open to any posing ideas...and Marisa was wearing JEANS. As someone who couldn't abide anything more confining than yoga pants until at least six month postpartum, I found that pretty impressive. The wardrobe choice and prompted me to ask if Marisa had braved birth without an epidural. Of course she had. Yet another point for natural childbirth (you know, for anyone who has ever thought, Why would anyone willingly to go thru that?...Ahem...Me).
