Mornings at Pensacola Beach

By far, my favorite time to photograph at the beach is in the early morning. The light is better and there are way fewer people. But the best part is the tide pools. As the tide goes out, these gems appear and make our beaches so much more interesting.

They provide opportunities to play with reflections and change the whole scene, making it all feel like another place. A place less flat…less familiar…less boring.

The kids really loved it too. We got out there a little later than I’d planned and the sun was a little harsher than I would have wanted for a client session. But I still had fun experimenting.
