The Foley Fam | Pensacola Military Family Photographer
I stepped out of my car and took a deep breath, inhaling the salty ocean air. Today was a special day - a day where I would have the privilege of capturing memorable moments for the Foley family at Pensacola Beach
The afternoon light at the beach was harsh, but I knew it wouldn't be for long. With each passing minute, it would begin to fade, providing a soft and warm glow that would enhance the natural beauty of the Foley family. I decided to take advantage of the bright light by starting our session at Battery Langdon.
The greenery at the old battery was a dream come true for a family photographer like myself. It acted as a natural filter, softening the light and adding a touch of depth and texture to the images. I could already envision how the blues that mama chose for their outfits would pop against the lush green backdrop.
I approached the Foley family with a warm smile, trying to ease any nerves they might have had. Family sessions can sometimes be a bit daunting, especially when young children are involved. But I was confident that I could create a relaxed and enjoyable environment for everyone.
We spent a few moments exploring the area surrounding the battery, searching out the perfect spots to capture their love and connection. The old oaks and golden grasses, served as a timeless frame for the playful interactions between the children. Laughter filled the air as they chased each other through the historic site.
As the sun began its descent towards the horizon, I knew it was time to move on to our next location. We crossed the street to Langdon Beach, where the dunes in the parking lot provided another unique and contrasting texture. I asked the family to climb up the dunes, encouraging them to embrace their playful side. The children's laughter echoed against the backdrop of rolling sand.
With the setting sun casting a warm golden glow, we finally made our way down to the water's edge. The last light of the day danced on the waves, creating a magical atmosphere. As the Foley family dipped their toes in the water, I captured their pure joy and love for each other. It was a moment that perfectly encapsulated the essence of a beach vacation - carefree, joyful, and full of love.
Looking back on the day, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The challenges of harsh light and wrangling young children had been effortlessly overcome, resulting in a collection of clean, vibrant images that the Foley family would cherish for years to come.
As a family photographer, moments like these reminded me why I adored what I do. Each session had its own unique story, its own extraordinary beauty. Capturing these precious moments was a privilege, and I was grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Foley family's memories at Pensacola Beach.
