Pensacola Blizzard of 2014 | Photog Life

Greeting from sunny ICY Florida! In this shocking and totally twisted turn of events, my house is covered in snow…ok, it's actually ice, and only a dusting. But hey, it's snow to us. The city has pretty much come to a standstill in the wake of the great blizzard of 2014. Everyone is afraid and ill equipped to drive. So we're holed up in our homes with fires roaring. You northern folks are laughing  at us, I'm sure. Let's just remember that next time you get a freak tropical storm. It has only snowed (and stuck) here once that I can remember…sometimes in the late 80's or early 90's. I just remember being little, and the neighbor boys pelting each other with snowballs (which they took inside and stuck in the freezer first in order to inflict maximum pain). Naturally, I couldn't wait to get out of bed this morning and photograph this phenomenon…who knows when I'll ever have another chance right?

As you see, my pond is frozen over…good thing we don't keep any fish in it. Ice skating anyone? No? Ok then. Stay warm today Pensacola!
