Tatum | Pensacola Newborn Photographer
As a Pensacola newborn photographer, I always like to feature the house in your newborn lifestyle images. Home is such an important part of your life, particularly when you bring welcome a new baby. Home holds all of our most precious family memories and we pour so much of our time and and creative energy into choosing and feathering our nests.
These days though, the majority of families move on from a home before their babies have a chance to create core memories of the first place they ever lived. That is especially true in a place like Pensacola where so many of the families coming to me for newborn photography are military and will be leaving.
My favorite places to document at home include the front porch, the living room, the kitchen, the master bedroom, and the nursery. But ultimately, we’re going to work where the lighting is best.
Todd + Meagan’s home on one of my favorite streets in the East Hill area, had beautiful morning light in the nursery and very moody and directional light in the master bedroom. We spent the majority of our session in these two rooms before heading out to the front yard to document the facade.
You might think you need a lot of space or huge windows to have a beautiful session in your home, but that isn’t true! This master bedroom was tiny. I actually captured this last shot of the family on the end of the bed while standing inside their closet! The window on camera left was perfectly positioned to light the end of the bed and the window you see in the right corner of the frame made a beautiful rim light.
