The Moorer Family | Pensacola Photographer
It’s always fun to be hired by families I know well. The Moorers attend our church, Katelyn and I led MOPS together, our kids are besties, and we’ve been fortunate to live close enough for last minute ‘hey can you watch my kids’ and to carpooling to school for the last 2 years.
I don’t do mini session events very often, so Katelyn was quick to jump on it when I offered minis as part of a collaboration with Matilda Jane Clothing this past fall. She was able to snag this SUPER CUTE purple and green MJ outfit for her daughter, which she used to inspire the color palette for everyone else’s wardrobe.
I love how she pulled out the blues with Mason + Michael’s shirts and chose purple for herself as it really flatters her skin tones. Kevin’s green gingham shirt was the PERFECT way to add in one more subtle pattern as well as pull out the last of the colors in Kenzie’s outfit. The color and patterns just layer together so beautifully to create visual interest without being overwhelming.
That’s part of the charm of the whole Matilda Jane line. Colors and patterns are so complimentary without being uber matchy-matchy. If you are having trouble choosing outfits for your next family session, I highly recommend checking out Matilda Jane to find a piece or two that will inspire the rest of your choices. For now, check out the rest of this session.
I haven’t done this in a while and I think it’s due for a comeback…If 50 people comment on this post, I’ll gift the Moorers with a FREE 8X10 image for their walls (a $40 value). Tell us which of these photos you’d choose if you were Katelyn.
